The building was originally built in the 1890's as a single story church, with a small wardens residence at one end. As this is an old building it requires a considerable amount of on-going maintenance, and consequently about 18 months ago the committee set up a plan of action to address the main areas for refurbishment : Phase I Repair the external N/E wall to prevent egress and internal damp Supply and fit a new gas boiler Resite and rebuild the gents toilets Repoint various severely weathered walls at the rear of the building Construct a substantial wooden fence at the rear of the building Replace the wooden guttering at the front of the building and undertake various roofing repairs Erect 2 sheds for auxiliary storage
